Communication: Marketplace Dos and Don'ts

In this article, we emphasize key communication dos and don'ts that all users of the Hourspent Marketplace should follow for a safer experience.

Adhering to these guidelines is crucial for your safety.

Please follow the guidelines below to maintain a secure, comfortable, and convenient marketplace for everyone.

The Dos:

Keep transactions and communications on Hourspent: Always conduct your payments and communications through the Hourspent platform. This ensures that we can support and protect your projects. Taking transactions and communications off Hourspent limits our ability to assist you.

Use appropriate language and maintain professionalism: Always communicate professionally on Hourspent. The platform does not tolerate bullying, harassment, discrimination, or hate speech.

Utilize Hourspent Workstream: Use this tool for all chat, audio, and video communication of your Marketplace projects to ensure secure and efficient interactions.

The Don'ts:

**Important:** If you encounter any suspicious behavior during your conversations, contact Hourspent Support immediately. You can also report suspicious messages to our Trust and Safety team using the Report button as detailed below.

**Don't share sensitive information:** Never share your passwords, credit card information, Social Security Number (SSN), national identification card number, or any other private information.

**Don't click on unverified links or attachments:** Avoid clicking on any links or attachments received through instant messaging from unrecognized contacts unless you are sure of their context. Additionally, use antivirus software on your device for extra security.

**Don't engage in uncomfortable conversations:** If you receive a message that makes you feel uncomfortable, do not respond. Instead, report the sender to Support immediately.

**Avoid using remote access tools: Refrain from using tools like TeamViewer or AnyDesk as they allow the other party to potentially control your computer. If you must use a remote access tool, do not allow any operations that could harm your computer, such as downloading unfamiliar files or opening untrusted websites.
